Creative Nova Scotia: How Arts and Culture Can Help Build a Better Nova Scotia

Volunteers Sought for Nova Scotia Arts and Culture Partnership Council

Are you interested in helping to shape the future of the province’s investment in arts and culture? We are currently looking for leaders to join the Nova Scotia Arts and Culture Partnership Council.

The volunteer board operates as a partner with government, advising and making recommendations to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage on the planning, design and delivery of the department’s arts and culture programs. The Council meets monthly and reimburses its volunteer members with out-of-pocket travel expenses.

The Council’s selection committee will recommend volunteers for the 15-member council. The committee is seeking a range of experience among council members and will work to strike a balance between the arts and the cultural industries, individual artists, not-for-profit arts organizations and any individual with an interest in helping shape a vibrant art and culture community." The committee will also take into consideration cultural and regional diversity and the full scope of art forms.

Deadline for applications: May 6, 2009.
